German: SDS-Poylacrylamidgel-Elektrophorese
Japanese: SDSポリアクリルアミドゲル電気泳動

Analytic Chemistry. An electrophoretic method for separating proteines according to their molecular weights. The technique is performed in polyacrylamide gels (PAGE) containing sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS). SDS is an anionic detergent denaturing the proteins thus the intrinsic electrical charge of the proteins is not a factor in the separation.
