Study type: Medical/biological study (experimental study)

Effect of a 9 mT pulsed magnetic field on C3H/Bi female mice with mammary carcinoma. A comparison between the 12 Hz and the 460 Hz frequencies med./bio.

Published in: In Vivo 1991; 5 (1): 39-40

Aim of study (acc. to author)

In this study the effects of a pulsed magnetic field on the lifespan, tumor weight, spleen weight, and lung weight on female mice were examined and compared with a previous study at 460 Hz (Bellossi 1988, q.v. publication 1372).

Background/further details

The mice develop spontaneous viral mammary carcinoma which can metastasize to the lungs. 79 mice were used in this study (52 exposed/27 control). Exposure was initiated 2-3 weeks after spontanous tumor appeared.
